About Me
I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Clinical Psychology at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON., Canada. I work with Dr. Michele Morningstar in the Development of Social and Emotional Communication Lab. I am currently completing my Pre-Doctoral Residency in Pediatric Psychology at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, ON.
My research is focused on youth’s development of nonverbal communication skills. I am particularly interested in how children and adolescents learn to convey their intentions to others using nonverbal cues (e.g., facial expressions, tone of voice). I use experimental methods and speech/facial muscle movement analyses to objectively measure nonverbal behaviour.
I currently hold a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) Canadian Graduate Scholarship - Doctoral (CGS-D) award (2023-2026). My research has been published in high-impact journals, including the Journal of Experimental Psychology: General, and the Journal of Research on Adolescence.
I received a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology in 2019, and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology in 2021, working under the mentorship of Dr. Kevin Munhall at Queen’s University.
